Additions Capitalizing on Views along a Small Lake

We designed an addition to this 70-year old lake house on a small lake. We also designed major renovations to the existing house. The owner wanted to entertain his many weekend guests with the lake amenities but also with an entertainment wall placed toward the neighboring house where lake views would not be lost. The new addition upstairs floor with two new bedrooms steps up to allow for a higher ceiling in the great room below. The two existing upstairs bedrooms had small windows in the gable that did not face the lake, and we created lakeside dormers for greatly needed space and priceless lake views.

The builder was able to construct the project using our design development documents. Even without details and notes the builder let us know they were impressed with the issues we worked out with the design, finding our drawings to be very clear on intent for construction and the geometry to be achieved.
